Vital Core Health Strategies (VCHS), an industry leader in correctional health, is hiring Part‑Time Registered Nurses for the Souza Baranowski Correctional Center in Lancaster, MA. Positions available:
Part Time Day Shift – 20 hours per week and Part Time Evening Shift – 24 hours per week.

A Registered Nurse (RN) delivers quality care within the scope of practice outlined by the local state nurse practice act. The RN works in accordance with local practice acts and regulations, delegates and ensures the supervision of nursing activities to competent personnel. The RN assumes responsibility and accountability for the quality of care delivered, promotes patient advocacy, and serves as a leader in nursing best practices.

• Maintain accurate, detailed reports and records.
• Administer medications and monitor patients for reactions and side effects.
• Record patients’ medical information and vital signs.
• Monitor, record, and report symptoms or changes in patients’ condition.
• Consult and coordinate with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement, or evaluate patient care plans.
• Modify patient treatment plans as indicated by patients’ responses and conditions.
• Monitor all aspects of patient care, including diet and physical activity.
• Direct or supervise less-skilled nursing or healthcare personnel or supervise a particular unit.
• Prepare patients for and assist with examinations or treatments.
• Instruct individuals, families, or groups on health education, disease prevention, and health improvement programs.
• Prepare rooms, sterile instruments, equipment, or supplies and ensure stock maintenance.
• Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to assess patient’s condition.
• Attend training and meetings as required.

• Degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university (or graduate of an approved RN program).
• Current active RN license in the state of Massachusetts.
