Pay Rate: $30.29-$49.88 hourly
The Registered Echo Technologist performs and assists with cardiovascular procedures ordered by physicians to aid in diagnosis.
Responsibilities include:
- Performing diagnostic ultrasound procedures such as stress echos, transesophageal echo, 2-D echo with M-mode, color flow, and cardiac doppler.
- Conducting cardiovascular diagnostic tests like EKGs, Event Monitors, Pulmonary Function Tests, Lower Extremity Doppler Studies, and Stress Testing.
- Recording procedure data and informing physicians of critical results.
- Cleaning and disinfecting cardiology equipment.
- Handling supply inventory, clerical duties, patient transportation, and assisting staff.
- Participating in monthly cardiovascular meetings and CQI programs.
- Supervising and instructing students, precepting new employees, and participating in quality improvement activities.
- Ensuring patient rights and privacy in compliance with HIPAA.
- Performing CPR as needed and maintaining a safe work environment.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
The candidate must pass competency assessments, including rhythm recognition.
Qualifications- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Vascular/Echocardiography or related field from an accredited institution.
- Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) or ARDMS registration or eligibility, with CPR certification.
- 1-2 years of echocardiography experience preferred, including advanced echocardiography techniques.
Physical exertion includes occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds and frequently up to 25 pounds.
