Surgical Technologist

The Surgical Technologist prepares the operating room for surgical procedures by setting up sterile fields, surgical instruments, supplies, and solutions. During surgery, this role assists the surgical team by passing instruments, managing the sterile field, and handling specimens, ensuring a safe and efficient surgical environment.

• Maintain a clean and sterile surgical environment
• Provide the surgeon with appropriate instrumentation and equipment during procedures
• Prepare the operating room for surgery, including setting up sterile fields
• Keep records of Steam Sterilizer usage
• Perform initial instrument, sharps, and sponge counts with the circulator
• Organize suture carts and monitor expiration dates
• Turn over rooms between surgical cases
• Assist team members with gowning and gloving
• Assist with patient positioning and transport
• Stock adequate supplies for surgical procedures
• Perform other duties as requested

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Certified Surgical Technologist certification preferred
• 2+ years of related work experience preferred
• Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
