VP of Finance and Accounting

A growing, privately held manufacturing company with approximately $30 million in annual revenue is seeking a Vice President of FP&A & Accounting to help lead its next phase of growth.

This is a high-impact leadership opportunity for a finance professional who can combine strategic financial planning with strong accounting oversight, operational insight, and hands-on execution. The ideal candidate brings a blend of strategic thinking and practical operating experience, with the ability to translate financial data into actionable business recommendations.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the annual budgeting process, periodic forecasting, and long-range financial planning.
• Develop financial models, performance dashboards, and reporting tools to support strategic decision-making.
• Analyze revenue, margins, operating expenses, cash flow, and profitability to identify trends, risks, and growth opportunities.
• Establish and monitor key financial and operational performance indicators.
• Present financial results, forecasts, and recommendations to executive leadership.
• Oversee core accounting activities, including the general ledger, month-end and year-end close, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
• Ensure accurate, timely, and reliable financial reporting in accordance with applicable accounting standards.
• Strengthen internal controls, accounting policies, and financial procedures as the business grows.
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, working capital, and cash management.
• Coordinate with external accounting partners, tax advisors, auditors, and other financial professionals as needed.

Manufacturing & Operational Finance

• Partner with operations, production, purchasing, and other business leaders to evaluate financial and operational performance.
• Oversee cost accounting, product costing, gross margin analysis, and manufacturing variance analysis.
• Evaluate inventory levels, labor and material costs, production efficiency, and other drivers of profitability.
• Identify opportunities to improve cost control, pricing decisions, working capital, and operating margins.
• Develop financial analyses to support capital investments, equipment purchases, and other operational initiatives.

Strategic Leadership & Business Growth

• Serve as a trusted financial partner to executive leadership, providing insights that inform business strategy and resource allocation.
• Build scalable financial processes, systems, and reporting capabilities to support the company's continued expansion.
• Evaluate growth initiatives, investment opportunities, and potential business risks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
• CPA, MBA, or other relevant advanced qualification preferred.
• Background in manufacturing, industrial, or product-based businesses strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling.
• Experience with cost accounting, inventory, product costing, and manufacturing economics.
• Demonstrated ability to improve financial processes, reporting systems, and internal controls.
• Experience partnering with operational and executive leaders to support business decisions.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills, including the ability to translate complex financial information into clear business recommendations.
• Hands-on, entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to balance strategic planning and day-to-day financial execution.
