Job DescriptionProvides professional nursing care to assigned patients in need of intravenous treatment. Administers intravenous therapeutic treatments as directed by a physician. Determines appropriate venipuncture and/or catheter site. Observes patients' IV treatment and records observations in patient medical records. Provides information to patients and families regarding intravenous treatment and procedures.
PRN Status ClauseThis is a PRN as-needed position, you must be available to work at least 12 hours bi-weekly, as needed according to departmental demands. You may be required to work additional hours if requested by your supervisor to accomplish work objectives. Work hours may vary (increase or decrease) depending on the needs of the unit.
ExperiencePrevious experience in oncology, infusion nursing preferred.
EducationGraduate from an accredited school of nursing is required. Bachelor of Nursing degree preferred.
Licenses/CertificationLicensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state is required. ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certification must be obtained if not already certified. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) with the American Heart Association (AHA) is required.
