Under general supervision, controls & extinguishes fires, protects life & property, & maintains all fire equipment. Receives & responds to fire alarms & other emergency calls performing the necessary functions & operations to efficiently handle any fire ground situation. Performs fire inspections & pre-fire planning. Conducts minor vehicle & equipment maintenance, & other related tasks as assigned. Reports to the Shift Captain and/or Indian Land Fire District within the established chain of command.
This position will be stationed in Indian Land Fire District, Stations 1 or 2 with a 24hr on-duty shift schedule.
Minimum qualifications include:
Preferred certifications include:
- NFPA Firefighter II
- Certifications in Technical Rescue Courses such as Advanced Auto Extrication, Haz-Mat Tech, High Angle Rope, Confined Space, Trench, and Swiftwater Rescue.
