American Traveler is hiring an experienced ER RN for a short-term acute care hospital position requiring prior charge experience and SC or compact RN licensure.
Details- Combined Adult/Pediatric Emergency Department setting in a 97-bed short term acute care hospital
- Day shift schedule, 4x12 hours (7a-7p), with possible consideration for 3x12s
- Patient ratios of 1:4, flexing to 1:5 depending on acuity
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call responsibilities
- Floating required within scope to meet facility needs, including between like units or sister facilities
- Uses Epic EMR
- Active SC or Compact RN license required in hand prior to start
- Minimum 2 years of ER experience required
- Previous charge nurse experience required
- Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS (AHA certifications only)
- TNCC and CPI certifications preferred
- SSN required for consideration
- Provide triage and emergency nursing care to a combined adult and pediatric patient population
- Must complete all assigned training modules prior to start date, with access typically provided the Wednesday before start
- Attendance at staff meetings is required
- Royal blue scrub color required
- Must reside within a 60-mile radius of the facility, though candidates outside this radius are prioritized
- Local candidates may be considered on a case-by-case basis
- Previous permanent or PRN staff must be separated from the health system for 1 year before returning as a traveler
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Candidates should be aware that during hurricane season (June through November, peak August-September), all staff may be assigned to emergency response teams
- Block scheduling may be requested but is not guaranteed
- Facility may cancel up to 1 shift per 2 weeks
