Assistant Management Accountant; FTC)

Position: Assistant Management Accountant (9-12 Month FTC)
Assistant Management Accountant (9–12 Month Fixed-Term Contract) Are you an ambitious part-qualified accountant looking to take the next step towards a fully rounded management accounting role? Our client part of a dynamic international group, is seeking a proactive Assistant Management Accountant to join its Finance team on a 9–12 month fixed-term contract. Subject to performance and future business requirements, there may also be an opportunity for the position to become permanent.

Working closely with the UK Financial Controller, you will support the day-to-day finance operation while gaining broader exposure to month-end reporting, balance sheet control, intercompany accounting, audit and continuous improvement. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong transactional finance background who is ready to develop their management accounting experience. Your responsibilities will include:
Processing supplier invoices, credit notes and payment runs Matching invoices to purchase orders and resolving queries Completing bank, cashbook and balance sheet reconciliations Posting cash transactions and investigating unreconciled items Assisting with month-end journals, accruals and prepayments Supporting management reporting, analysis and commentary Completing intercompany reconciliations and resolving differences Preparing schedules and information for internal and external audit Maintaining accurate financial information within the ERP system Contributing to stronger controls, improved reporting and reduced manual processing You will have previous experience within a finance or assistant accountant position, together with a sound understanding of double-entry bookkeeping, reconciliations and month-end processes.

Strong Excel skills—including formulas, lookups and pivot tables—are essential. Essential to this role are good organisation skills and the ability to be accurate and confident taking ownership of your workload in a fast-paced environment. You will also enjoy working collaboratively with finance and non-finance colleagues to resolve problems and improve processes. Candidates studying towards ACCA, CIMA or ACA are particularly encouraged to apply.

Experience with in manufacturing, engineering, an international business or an ERP environment—would be advantageous.
