Job Details
12 month Fixed Term Post to cover upcoming maternity leave. Working within the Oncology speciality team to manage the patient pathway and ensure all aspects of the pathway are addressed, including NHS national performance targets.
Responsibilities- Track and pursue all results, ensuring they are managed appropriately.
- Ensure all patients receive appointments in a timely fashion.
- Collaborate with other Patient Navigators to ensure timely care and optimal waiting list management for all patients in relevant specialities.
- Supervise day-to-day operations of secretaries and clerical officers within the speciality admin teams and raise any concerns to the Administration Manager.
- Apply initiative and maintain confidentiality at all times.
- Oversee work allocation and distribution, ensuring adherence to Standard Operating Procedures.
- Supervise and monitor new staff.
- Provide administrative support for specialties, consultants and their multi-disciplinary teams when necessary.
- Use independent judgement to handle enquiries and problems from patients and others on their behalf.
- Arrange meetings, prepare agendas and take accurate minutes.
- Attend relevant multi-disciplinary team meetings.
- Liaise with all staff involved in patient services, including medical, nursing, records, radiology, patient contact centre and management.
- Participate in the review or drafting of departmental policies and procedures.
- Cooperate in the introduction of new technology and new methods of working appropriate to secretarial and clerical duties.
- Continuously update best practices through self-development to maintain and improve knowledge and competence.
- Work collaboratively as a team member and lead when required, adhering to strict deadlines.
- Assist with investigations and compilation of responses to complaints within optimum deadlines.
- Undertake all mandatory training required by the Trust.
