Contract is temporary until 28 February 2027 to cover maternity leave.

Salary: 25949 - 26403 per annum, pro-rata

We are looking for someone to join the Lancaster Museums team to help provide engaging experiences for visitors at our vibrant and busy museums. You will need to be keen to roll up your sleeves, have a strong dedication to delivering exceptional customer care through teamwork, flexibility, and hard work in a friendly environment.

Strong local knowledge would be an advantage, as would an interest in local history. You will need to be able to work between our sites and be happy to work regular weekends.

This can be a physically demanding but rewarding job, which can sometimes mean being on your feet talking to people all day.

Some of the duties of this role include:

• Engaging with visitors to ensure that the museums are welcoming and enjoyable places to visit.
• Supporting all museum operations and activities to ensure visitors gain the best possible experience of their visits to the museums.
• Working within admissions, retail, small café, and other public areas.
• Ensuring the security of the museum, collections, staff & visitors.
• Cleaning exhibits and public areas.
• Supporting the care and presentation of the collections.

You will ideally have experience:

• Working in a public-facing role.
• Providing outstanding customer care.
• Working in a museum/heritage/retail and/or catering environment

Friday 10:00 - 16:15 | Saturday 11:45 - 16:15 | Sunday 10:00 - 16:15 | Monday 11:45 - 16:15

The position is maternity leave cover and is fixed term until 28 February 2027.
