Job overviewConsultant Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon with an interest in General Oral, Maxillofacial Surgery and Trauma and a subspecialty interest in Skin Cancer management.
Responsibilities- Provide clinical services across the three main hospitals and community premises.
- Participate in the consultant on‑call rota, including weekend morning trauma lists (rota 1:4).
- Maintain and develop a subspecialty interest in skin cancer management in complement to existing consultants.
- Collaborate closely with ENT colleagues in the MDT Head and Neck cancer service and with Clinical Nurse Specialists linked to the Regional Head and Neck Cancer Centre.

Person specification- MBChB or equivalent BDS.
- Full registration with GMC +/- GDC.
- CCST or equivalent/Fellowship in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (FRCS OMFS).
- Entry on Specialist register (or expected within 6/12 months).
- Research experience.
- Recognised as medical educator.
- Surgical prize.
- Publications.
- Formal teaching qualification.
- Trained Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon.
- Evidence of subspecialist training in skin cancer management and local skin MDT experience.
- Research experience.
- Demonstrated teaching experience.
- Experience in positions of responsibility e.g., editorial commitment, membership.
- Proven team working.
- Evidence of management training or experience.
- Attended advanced communications course.
- Record of personal development.
- Resident within 10 miles/30 minutes of Royal Lancaster Infirmary.
- Ability to travel to all units within the network and attend out of hours to see emergency patients.
- Good general health and able to carry out the duties of the post.
