A highly regarded Primary School in the Lancaster LA1 area, rated 'GOOD' by Ofsted, is seeking a committed and enthusiastic Early Years Teaching Assistant to join their dedicated EYFS team two days per week, starting in January 2026.

This is an excellent opportunity to work within a nurturing environment that prioritises the development and wellbeing of its youngest learners. The successful candidate will support the class teacher in delivering engaging activities aligned with the EYFS framework, assist with classroom management, and provide tailored support to children, including those with special educational needs (SEN).

The school prides itself on its inclusive ethos and collaborative approach, making this an ideal role for someone passionate about early childhood education and keen to make a positive impact.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the delivery of high‑quality learning experiences in line with the EYFS curriculum
  • Assist with planning and preparation of activities
  • Provide one‑to‑one and small group support, including for pupils with SEN
  • Help maintain a safe, stimulating, and positive learning environment
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and other staff to promote pupil progress and wellbeing
What We Are Looking For
  • Recent experience working in an Early Years setting
  • Strong understanding of the EYFS framework and child development
  • Experience supporting children with SEN (desirable)
  • A caring, patient, and proactive attitude
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Based in Lancaster or able to commute reliably

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
