English Teacher

A well-regarded 11–18 secondary school serving the Lancaster area is seeking a committed and thoughtful Teacher of English to join its established department from January 2026. The department has recently refined its curriculum to:

• Prioritise powerful, challenging texts across KS3

• Build clear progression in analytical writing

There is a strong emphasis on teaching pupils how to think, argue and write — not simply how to pass exams.

You will teach English across KS3 and KS4, with KS5 teaching available depending on experience. Lessons are carefully planned but not overly scripted, giving teachers professional freedom while maintaining consistency across the department.
