Job Summary

We are seeking to appoint a Learning Support Assistant to join our existing team from September 2026, to provide support to pupils in the classroom. This role is on a term‑time only, temporary contract until August 2027.

Key Responsibilities

Provide practical support to pupils in the classroom under the guidance of teaching staff, ensuring a safe, inclusive and child‑focused learning environment. Assist with lesson delivery and support pupils with Autism, ADHD and/or attachment disorders by implementing tailored strategies and resources.

Qualifications and Experience
  • GCSE or equivalent at Grade C/4 including English and Maths.
  • Experience of working in a school environment.
  • Experience of working with children/young people with special educational needs.
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills.
Desirable Experience
  • Experience planning and delivering learning activities.
  • Experience of using Microsoft Office applications.
Salary

Pay in accordance with Support Staff Grade 5: £25,989 – £28,142 per annum FTE (pay award pending). Actual salary based on part‑time hours will be £17,817 – £19,823 per annum.

Legal and Safeguarding

The post holder must promote and safeguard the welfare of children and young persons in accordance with the school’s Child Protection Policy Statement. Any concerns must be reported to the Designated Safeguarding Lead or Headmaster. The role is covered by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974, and successful candidates will be required to obtain a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) clearance.
