Youth Worker / Educational Support Officer Full‑Time Temp‑to‑Perm Opportunity

Prospero Teaching is looking for a Youth Engagement Officer to work at a purpose‑built school in Bolton that specialises in support for young people with SEMH needs. The school has recently undergone a full refurbishment and operates a calm, positive approach from day one.

The role is an ideal opportunity for an enthusiastic graduate considering teacher training (September 2027) or an experienced SEMH support worker who wants to work beyond the classroom and engage with young people in the community.

Essential requirements include owning a vehicle and willingness to obtain business insurance. All staff receive regular CPD and the successful candidate will be registered with Prospero Teaching and pass all safeguarding/vetting checks.

• Recent graduate with a 2:2 or higher, or an experienced SEMH mentor, or experience supporting/coaching children and young people
• Previous experience working in a UK school
• Up‑to‑date safeguarding training issued within the last year

• Right to work in the UK
• Enhanced child‑barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service, or willingness to apply
• Two professional child‑related references

• Free, accredited CPD courses including safeguarding and behaviour management
• Access to an in‑house training and development team
