The governors of Caton Primary School are looking to appoint a committed and enthusiastic Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join the dedicated, supportive, and friendly team. ResponsibilitiesWork within the Early Years unit to support and nurture young children, plan and deliver engaging learning experiences, and contribute to a safe, stimulating and inclusive environment. Build positive relationships with the whole school community, support children’s personal, social and emotional development, and work alongside colleagues as well as independently when required.
Essential Qualifications- Full and relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification (e.g. CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Early Years Education and Care, NVQ Level 3, or equivalent)
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths at Grade 4/C or above
- Paediatric first aid certificate
- Experience working with children in an early years setting
- Knowledge and understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage framework
- Understanding of safeguarding procedures and maintaining a safe learning environment
- Experience using EYFS online learning journals (e.g. Seesaw)
- Experience supporting children with SEND
- Experience planning and delivering Phase One phonics
The role is for a minimum of 32.5 hours per week across 5 days. Willingness to work additional hours at breakfast club and/or after school club would be advantageous and availability to provide wrap‑around care should be stated in your application.
