Our client is a long-established and highly respected civil engineering and infrastructure contractor with a history spanning more than 150 years. Operating across the UK, they deliver a diverse range of projects within the water, highways, drainage, flood alleviation, energy, and infrastructure sectors.

With an annual turnover in excess of 100 million
, the business has established itself as a leading name within the civil engineering market, offering clients a fully integrated service through a range of specialist divisions. Their continued success is driven by a strong pipeline of secured work, long-term framework agreements, and a commitment to delivering high-quality projects safely and efficiently.

Due to continued growth and a healthy order book, they are now seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to join their commercial team based in Bolton.

• Preparing detailed cost estimates and tender submissions for civil engineering projects.
• Reviewing tender documentation, specifications, drawings, and contract requirements.
• Obtaining and evaluating subcontractor and supplier quotations.
• Identifying risks, opportunities, and value engineering solutions during the tender process.
• Liaising with operational teams to develop competitive and deliverable bid strategies.
• Attending site visits and pre-tender meetings where required.
• Producing pricing schedules, bills of quantities, and tender reports.
• Supporting negotiations with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
• Maintaining accurate records of estimates and tender submissions.
• Assisting in the continuous improvement of estimating processes and procedures.

• Proven experience in an Estimator or Senior Estimator role within the civil engineering sector.
• Strong knowledge of infrastructure projects including highways, water, drainage, utilities, or general civils.
• Experience pricing projects ranging from small works through to multi-million-pound contracts.
• Excellent understanding of construction methods, contracts, and procurement routes.
• Strong commercial awareness and analytical skills.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Experience working with estimating software and Microsoft Office packages.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• A proactive and organised approach with strong attention to detail.
• Full UK driving licence.
