HOUSE MANAGER
Rendall & Rittner  £25,000 - £26,000 + 2 bedroom accommodation and utilities bills paid  Spinners Court, Lancaster - LA1 1RY

DEVELOPMENT DETAILS
Youll lead the heart of a welcoming retirement development of 63 homes for residents aged 55 and over, right in Lancaster city centre with the canal and amenities close by. Life here centres around a friendly lounge, well-kept landscaped gardens, a convenient laundry room and a comfortable guest suite. As the on-site House Manager, youll be a reassuring presence, fostering a safe, supportive and sociable environment where residents feel listened to, independent and E EXPECTATIONS
You will be the go-to point of contact for residents, visitors and contractors, ensuring the building is safe, well-run and warmly welcoming. Most days youll balance front-of-house support with practical checks, maintenance coordination and clear communication, keeping everything running smoothly and residents well informed.
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
Residents feel supported, safe and respected, with queries handled promptly and kindly.
The building is consistently clean, compliant and well-maintained, with accurate records up to date.
Communication is clear and timely, from noticeboards to resident updates and contractor briefings.
Routine checks, testing and inspections are completed on schedule, with actions followed through.
Community life thrives through small, thoughtful touches that encourage connection and independence.
Issues are anticipated and resolved early, minimising disruption and enhancing peace of mind.
HOW YOU'LL SPEND MOST OF YOUR TIME
Welcoming residents and visitors, responding to day-to-day queries and offering practical support.
Carrying out regular building, safety and compliance checks, logging actions and maintaining records.
Coordinating cleaning, repairs and maintenance with contractors, monitoring standards and access.
Managing deliveries, keys, noticeboards and guest suite bookings with tidy, organised systems.
Keeping communal areas presentable, reporting defects and following up to resolution.
Communicating updates and arranging access for works, ensuring everyone knows what to expect.

EXPERIENCE THAT HELPS
Experience in a customer-facing role within housing, hospitality, retirement living or front-of-house.
Familiarity with building safety routines, compliance checks or basic facilities coordination.
Handling contractor visits, scheduling small works and monitoring service quality.
Recording information accurately, keeping logs and using basic IT systems and email.
Supporting older or vulnerable people with sensitivity and discretion.
