Role Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and self-motivated Advanced Paediatric Dietitian to join the Nutrition and Dietetic Service in University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust. The post is based at Royal Lancaster Hospital with a requirement to travel to support our cross bay dietetic team. If you are a motivated, flexible and forward-thinking experienced Paediatric Dietician who is ready to advance their professional and clinical development in a more senior role we would love to hear from you.
Responsibilities- The post will cover both inpatient and outpatient work and you will responsible for managing a complex caseload covering a wide range of clinical areas including nutrition support, enteral feeding, gastroenterology, food allergies and feeding problems for infants, children and young people.
- We work very closely with the entire paediatric MDT, including consultants, specialist nurses, ward and support staff as well as health visitors, children’s community nurses and speech and language therapists.

- Applicants must be HCPC registered dietitians.
- Therefore, clinical evidence-based knowledge of paediatric dietetics, alongside a passion and commitment to leadership and management, service development and facilitation of learning and practitioner wellbeing is fundamental.
- You will have compassionate communication skills with a proactive approach to problem solving and implementation of innovative solutions within an evolving dietetics landscape. This ensures a responsive, needs-based approach to holistic patient centred care.

LocationThe post is based at Royal Lancaster Hospital with a requirement to travel to support our cross bay dietetic team. We operate from three main hospitals-Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as a number of community healthcare premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, and Ulverston Community Health Centre.
FGH and the RLI have a range of General Hospital services, with full Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units and various Consultant-led services. WGH provides a range of General Hospital services, together with an Urgent Treatment Centre, that can help with a range of non-life threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses. All three main hospitals provide a range of planned care including outpatients, diagnostics, therapies, day case and inpatient surgery.
In addition, a range of local outreach services and diagnostics are provided from community facilities across Morecambe Bay.
