We are inviting applications from Senior Clinical Psychologists or recently qualified psychologists interested in preceptorship roles to join our growing team supporting adult mental health inpatient facilities within Lancashire and South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust.
PostsPosts are available across Barrow, Blackpool, Chorley, Lancaster, Kendal and Whalley. Two posts may be combined to create a full‑time role.
Role OverviewYou will deliver specialist psychological assessment and intervention services within inpatient settings, contribute to team meetings and case conferences, provide supervision, and support clinical education and research initiatives.
Responsibilities- Deliver clinical assessments and evidence‑based interventions to adult inpatient patients.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to treatment planning.
- Supervise and support training of clinical psychology trainees and other staff.
- Engage in research and quality improvement projects aligned with trust initiatives.
- Maintain professional development and keep up to date with BPS CPD requirements.
- Doctorate in Clinical Psychology or equivalent recognised qualification.
- Proficiency in at least two therapeutic modalities and essential psychological assessment methods.
- Strong research methodology background, including study design and complex data analysis.
- Minimum of 40 hours annual CPD logged in accordance with BPS guidance.
- Extensive experience delivering assessment and treatment in inpatient, community, primary care or outpatient settings.
- Worked with diverse client groups across the lifespan, managing complex and high‑risk presentations.
- Demonstrated commitment to maintaining professionalism and managing emotional demands of the role.
- Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written, able to explain complex information to clients, families and multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong consultation and leadership skills, including ability to provide guidance to other professionals.
- Resilience and sustained concentration when managing demanding case loads.

This post requires a Disclosure and Barring Service check under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975.
Salary£57,528 to £64,750 a year (subject to confirmation).
