Job overviewWe are looking for an enthusiastic midwife to join our outpatient maternity team, working in our day assessment unit and also antenatal clinics.
This role offers a dynamic mix of clinical midwifery alongside excellent work life balance.
Main duties of the jobDuties will include but not limited to:
Antenatal midwifery care
Taking and following up of laboratory samples
Antenatal screening tests and referral to screening team/ fetal medicine
Day to day running of obstetric clinics
Midwife clinics - VBAC and Anti D
Administrative tasks such as referrals, booking appointments and ultrasound scans
Opportunities to lead and develop specialist clinics such as Complex maternal medicine and Multiple pregnancies.
Providing scheduled care in day assessment unit such as CTG monitoring, Pre-op assessments, IV infusions and Obstetric review, supporting our BSOTS Triage system.
Working for our organisationWe operate from three main hospitals-Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as a number of community healthcare premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, andUlverston
Community Health Centre.
FGH and the RLI have a range of General Hospital services, with full Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units and various Consultant-led services.
WGH provides a range of General Hospital services, together with an Urgent Treatment Centre, that can help with a range of non-life threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses.
All three main hospitals provide a range of planned care including outpatients, diagnostics, therapies,daycase and inpatient surgery. In addition, a range of local outreach services and diagnostics are provided from community facilities across Morecambe Bay.
