Job Description & How to Apply Below
Following investment and continued growth, this new role has been created to take a more proactive approach to hiring across the business. Reporting to the HR Manager, you'll take ownership of recruitment from the initial brief through to offer. You'll work closely with managers across technical, commercial, operations and professional services teams, building their confidence in direct hiring and helping them secure the people they need as the business grows.
This is an opportunity to shape how recruitment works, not simply manage vacancies through an existing process. Some roles have developed around long-serving employees with unusually broad responsibilities. You'll need the confidence to challenge a brief constructively, explain what the candidate market can offer and help managers decide whether to adjust the role or develop the right person after appointment.
Key Responsibilities Manage recruitment campaigns from vacancy briefing and advert creation through to sourcing, selection, offer and onboarding handover. Build strong relationships with hiring managers, understanding their teams, priorities and the skills each vacancy needs. Source candidates directly through Linked In, job boards, referrals, networking and targeted approaches. Screen and shortlist candidates against the requirements of the role, as well as the behaviours needed to succeed in the business.
Advise managers on realistic briefs, effective selection methods and timely hiring decisions. Develop talent pipelines for recurring and specialist technical vacancies, reducing reliance on recruitment agencies. Write engaging adverts and provide clear, timely communication throughout the candidate journey. Improve recruitment processes, systems and reporting, using measures such as time to hire, source of hire and cost per hire to show what's working.
Create and develop employer brand activity and ensure recruitment practices are fair and inclusive. Skills & Experience Proven experience managing recruitment from brief to offer, either in an agency or an internal role. Strong direct sourcing skills and the ability to manage several vacancies at once. A commitment to giving candidates and hiring managers a positive experience. Confidence building relationships at all levels and constructively challenging a brief when it will lead to a better result.
Clear writing, sound judgement and strong organisational skills. Experience recruiting for technical, network, cyber or professional services roles would be an advantage. If you're new to the sector, you'll need to show you can quickly understand specialist roles and ask technical managers the right questions. You'll need a full UK driving licence and be able to spend regular time at the Lancaster office, typically around three days a week, with some travel to other locations when required.
The business offers flexibility around its working arrangements. If you're ready to put your recruitment experience to work in a role you can help shape, apply now!
