Our Trust is recruiting enthusiastic, highly motivated community midwives/birth centre midwives to join our dynamic, dedicated, forward‑thinking professional team serving a wide geographical area with rural and urban communities.
Responsibilities- Reliability, flexibility, motivation, excellent clinical skills, and a commitment to ongoing learning and development.
- Commitment to delivering high‑quality care and embracing positive change and transformation.
- Provide home birth and births within a birth centre.
- Work as an autonomous practitioner within a multi‑disciplinary team, maintaining good relationships to ensure women receive safe care.
- Provide high‑quality, women‑centred maternity care, effective leadership, optimise teaching opportunities, give support to all grades of staff, and plan and direct activities to provide optimal standard of care.
- Deliver high‑quality maternity education to women and families and give necessary care, advice and supervision throughout the pregnancy continuum.
- Ensure appropriate referral for mother or child to other agencies and specialist midwifery teams.
Experience in community midwifery and birth centre settings; competence in home birth and birth centre operations; strong leadership and teaching skills; ability to work autonomously and within a multidisciplinary team.
WorkplaceThe role involves working within the community as an autonomous practitioner across our three main hospitals:
Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, plus various community healthcare premises.
