Job summary

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Clinical Lead for Children's Community Nursing to provide strong clinical leadership within our children's services.

This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled children's nurse to lead a dynamic community team delivering high-quality, evidence-based care to children/young people with acute, complex, and long-term health needs.

The post holder will work collaboratively across health, social care, and partner organisations to ensure holistic, responsive care, supporting children to remain at home wherever possible.

The Clinical Lead for Community Children's Nursing is responsible for developing the nursing community services, which include the CCN team, bowel/bladder team, child development nursing team as well as the specialist nurses (epilepsy and Kentown). We provide nursing care across community settings in North Lancashire, promoting a learning culture and demonstrating leadership and innovation.

The Community Children's Team is part of an Integrated Children's Nursing and Therapy Team (ICNT) and the post holder will lead in the specified clinical area(s) with advanced knowledge, skills and experience to advise and support staff on managing complex clinical issues.

Main duties of the job Provide strong clinical leadership across the Children's Community Nursing team within the Integrated service

Promote high-quality, safe, and family-centred care across all pathways

Support integration and collaborative working across nursing, therapies, services

Lead on clinical governance, safeguarding, and quality improvement initiatives

Oversee complex case management, ensuring coordinated and effective care delivery

Line manage staff, including supervision, appraisal, and workforce development

Contribute to service transformation and integration projects within ICNTBuild effective partnerships with acute services, primary care, education, and social care Drive a culture of compassion, inclusion, and continuous improvement

About us We operate from three main hospitals-Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as a number of community healthcare premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, andUlverston

Community Health Centre.

FGH and the RLI have a range of General Hospital services, with full Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units and various Consultant-led services.

WGH provides a range of General Hospital services, together with an Urgent Treatment Centre, that can help with a range of non-life threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses.

All three main hospitals provide a range of planned care including outpatients, diagnostics, therapies,daycase and inpatient surgery. In addition, a range of local outreach services and diagnostics are provided from community facilities across Morecambe Bay.

Our Community Service for adults are provided in people's homes ,community centres, clinics, GP Practices, community hospitals. Our aim is to work with people to help them remain independent , improve their health and manage their conditions through high quality care , advice and support.
