Main

Purpose:

Observing high standards of personal appearance and a polite manner as Catering Assistant, you will assist in the preparation and service of menu items, maintaining impeccable standards of service, cleanliness, hygiene and safety.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Preparation of all working and service areas.
Assisting in the preparation and presentation of food and beverages.
Adherence to any issued standard recipes for menu items.
Maintenance of high standards of service in respect of food and beverages.
Promotion of good, pleasant customer relations in a professional manner.
Maintenance of the highest level of customer contact.
Promotion of team working and a friendly working environment with colleagues.
Assistance in the clearing and cleaning of all service, preparation and eating areas, utensils and equipment.
Work within HACCP and HSE regulations at all times.
Demonstration of a professional, courteous and friendly attitude towards the pupils, staff and work colleagues at all times.
Additional Responsibilities
Carrying out special duties of work outside the normal daily routine as required by the Cook.
Attendance of all Health and Safety and training meetings as required.
Reporting of all accidents/sickness, following Sedbergh Schools procedures.
Assisting in the smooth running of the kitchen all times, especially during times of sickness, holiday etc.
Other Duties:
To attend meetings and training courses as required.
To assist with preparation and production of all requirements for special functions and evening events. NB: this may sometimes take place outside normal working hours.
Health and Safety:
All staff should be aware of the schools health and safety policy and implement it as appropriate.

All staff employed by Sedbergh School are expected to take responsibility for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young persons for whom they are responsible or with whom they come into contact.
