Title - Housing Officer

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Extra Care Scheme Housing Officer to support residents within an Extra Care housing environment. You will play a key role in ensuring residents can maintain their independence while living in a safe, well-managed, and supportive community.

This is a varied role involving tenancy management, resident support, safeguarding, and partnership working with care providers and external agencies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage tenancy sign‑ups, tenancy sustainment, and resident onboarding.
  • Conduct regular welfare and scheme visits to residents.
  • Support residents with Housing Benefit and other tenancy-related matters.
  • Monitor rent accounts and proactively manage arrears cases.
  • Liaise with appointees, deputies, family members, and support agencies where appropriate.
  • Respond to and elevate repair and maintenance issues.
  • Manage Anti‑Social Behaviour (ASB) cases in line with policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a strong focus on safeguarding and resident wellbeing.
  • Work closely with care providers, contractors, and partner agencies to deliver a high‑quality service.
  • Support void management processes, ensuring empty properties are ready to let quickly and efficiently.
  • Ensure health & safety and compliance standards are maintained across the scheme.
About You
  • Previous experience within housing management, supported housing, or extra care housing.
  • Knowledge of Housing Benefit, tenancy management, and safeguarding procedures.
  • Experience managing rent arrears, ASB, and resident support cases.
  • Strong communication and relationship‑building skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage a varied caseload.
  • Flexible, proactive, and resident‑focused approach.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (if required)
