Description
Following prescribed techniques, takes images of various portions of the body to assist in the diagnosis of disease or injuries. Uses portable and stationary equipment. Explains procedures to patient. Processes digital images. Administers imaging contrast under the direction of the Radiologist to render organs more opaque when required. Assists with fluoroscopic examinations. Prepares room, equipment, contrast and materials. Cleans, disinfects rooms and maintains equipment.
Maintains stock supplies and performs general office and scheduling duties, . Transports patients. Follows the guidelines described in the Code of Conduct Ethics and Compliance Program.
Qualifications
- Successful completion of a radiology technology program.
- Is registered by the American Registry of Radiology Technologists
- Is registered in good standing as a radiology technologist with the State of Wyoming.
- Current BLS
- Must have X-ray, CT and a 3 rd modality
- Hold appropriate certification levels to perform specialized procedures.
- Must be able to withstand the stresses and demands of an active position.
- Ability to work well under pressure from time deadlines, multiple tasks and interruptions.
- Good interpersonal communication skills.
- Must be able to communicate and comprehend accurately and effectively in English through both written and verbal correspondence.
- Must be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
- When placed On-Call must be able to report to the hospital within 20 minutes for x-ray or 60 minutes for ultrasound.
