Sage West - This position is responsible for registering all inpatient, outpatients, emergency and surgical patients for services. These duties include interviewing patients for demographic and insurance information and inputting this information into the system. Collection of co-pays and deductibles, answering phones and directing patients. The Admissions Clerk is the initial contact most patients have with the hospital. The Admission Clerk's role is to create a sense of caring and a congenial atmosphere for the patients.

• Register all inpatient, outpatient, emergency and surgical patients for services.
• Interview patients for demographic and insurance information and input this information into the system.
• Collect co-pays and deductibles.
• Answer phones and direct patients as needed.
• Serve as the initial contact most patients have with the hospital and contribute to a caring, congenial atmosphere.

• High School graduate or GED (Preferred).
• Accurate typing skills and basic experience with computers.
• Ability to communicate and comprehend accurately and effectively in written and spoken English.
• Ability to perform math calculations accurately (percentage rates, discounts, payments, etc.).
• Must possess high-quality, positive interpersonal skills.
• Able to work with a moderate level of noise and interruptions.
• Ability to discuss financial matters in detail over the phone and spend long periods of time on the telephone, speaking to people.
