Job Description - Registered Nurse (RN), ICU Nights, Lander (522682)

Provides direct high-level nursing care to critically ill patients. Responsible for monitoring life support equipment, attending to wounds, responding to changing patient conditions and providing advanced life support. Assesses, plans and evaluates patient care needs. Administers prescribed medications, changes dressings, cleans wounds, and monitors vital signs. Carries out physician orders and clarifies, educates and instructs patients and families of them as needed.

Monitors, records and communicates patient condition as appropriate utilizing computerized documentation systems. Assesses and coordinates patient discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.

• Provide direct high-level nursing care to critically ill patients in the ICU.
• Monitor life support equipment and respond to changing patient conditions.
• administer prescribed medications, change dressings, clean wounds, and monitor vital signs.
• Carry out physician orders and educate/instruct patients and families as needed.
• Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition using computerized documentation systems.
• Assess and coordinate discharge planning needs with the healthcare team.

• Must have current and valid Wyoming RN License or compact equivalent

• Current BLS Certification through American Heart Association
• Current ACLS certification through American Heart Association
• Current PALS or ENPC certification through American Heart Association or required within 90 days of hire or transfer into department
• Current TNCC or within 1 year of initial hire

Minimum 2+ years Critical Care experience preferred.
