Assist the store manager in sales, appearance, and overall operations. This role provides hands‑on training preparing the assistant manager for a future management position. Bilingual candidates encouraged to apply.
Essential Job Functions- Supervise the professional and retail operations of store and team members.
- Oversee professional delivery and installer service specialists.
- Oversee retail parts and merchandising specialists.
- Recruit, test, hire, evaluate, promote, discipline, and discharge team members under supervision.
- Communicate information from team weekly and monthly store manager meetings to all team members.
- Train new team members.
- Handle team member performance evaluations and recommend pay increases.
- Support store manager by ensuring safety compliance and providing appropriate training in all areas.
- Conduct sales calls with or without store manager; schedule weekly customer calls if required.
- Assist with store operations as assigned.
- Maintain delivery fleet and record keeping for each vehicle.
- Ensure store/HUB store is neat, clean, and organized.
- Use electronic scheduling, clocking, and payroll systems.
- Manage key components of gross profit; monitor professional customer returns for core and warranty abuse.
- Review competitive price matches and price overrides for proper use.
- Review individual team member productivity and KPI dashboard daily.
- Review monthly P&L statement with store manager and identify areas of opportunity.
- High School Diploma.
- Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Completion of Assistant Manager Certification, Sales Specialist Training, and Manager Development Program.
- Ability to read and match numerical/alpha characters quickly and accurately.
- Knowledge of automotive parts, equipment and systems.
- O’Reilly store and/or distribution center experience.
- Completed O’Reilly management training program.
- Advanced computer skills.
- ASE Certification.
- Fluency in multiple languages (Spanish highly desired).
