The City of Langford seeks a Building Official I or II to uphold building safety and compliance. Your expertise will shape our community’s development.

As part of the Building Services team, you will review, enforce, and ensure compliance with building bylaws and the BC Building Code. This role welcomes professionals with strong organizational skills and a commitment to customer service. Bring your conflict resolution talent and specialized knowledge to help enhance municipal building standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review building plans and applications for compliance

• Inspect construction sites for adherence to codes

• Engage with stakeholders to resolve issues promptly

• Provide high-level customer service to ensure community satisfaction

• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of building regulations

Requirements:

• BOABC Level I or II Certification

• Minimum of two to three years' municipal experience

• Valid BC Driver’s License (Class
5)

• Strong understanding of statutes and materials

• Flexibility for a modified workweek
