Sooke School District Homestay Position

Support international students as a Homestay Coordinator with Sooke School District. Manage communications with families and ensure student satisfaction.

This temporary role requires effective collaboration with students, families, and various stakeholders. The Homestay Coordinator will report to the District Principal and Vice Principal and must be prepared for flexible hours and 24/7 emergency phone responsibilities. Your interpersonal skills and judgment will be essential in maintaining a high standard of care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate placements for international students and Homestay families

• Handle 24/7 emergency contacts on a scheduled basis

• Assist with the oversight of student events and activities

• Engage with overseas agents for program coordination

• Monitor and adapt operations during peak seasons for arrivals

Requirements:

• Relevant degree in Child and Youth Care or similar field

• Minimum 2 years of experience in youth coordination

• Strong understanding of cross-cultural dynamics

• Proficient in Microsoft Office and related programs

• Must possess a valid driver's license
