Compensation: $25/hour
ACCS is seeking an Indigenous Showcase Coordinator to support and grow the Indigenous Showcase at the 2026 Lagoon Arts & Culture Festival. The Coordinator will build relationships with participating artists, coordinate showcase logistics, support a preview event, and help increase the visibility of Indigenous artists within the festival and the broader community.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate planning and delivery of the Indigenous Showcase.
- Maintain timelines, provide progress updates, and track hours worked.
- Communicate regularly with the Festival Coordinator and related festival teams.
- Recruit and support returning and new Indigenous artisans.
- Develop artist spotlights and promotional content in collaboration with the Publicity Coordinator.
- Seek community and media opportunities to promote participating artists.
- Organize showcase layout, signage, and artist communications.
- Coordinate a preview event for sponsors, dignitaries, and community partners.
- Be onsite for a minimum of 9 hours during the festival weekend.
- Submit a brief post-event report with recommendations for future festivals.
- Understanding of and respect for Indigenous artists, cultures, and communities.
- Experience coordinating events, community programs, or cultural initiatives.
- Strong organizational, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to manage timelines and work within approved budgets.
- Experience with Canva or similar design software.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Legal authorization to work in Canada.
Preference will be given to qualified applicants who are members of the Songhees or Esquimalt Nations.
Working ConditionsFlexible hours with some evening and weekend commitments. Availability during key planning periods and throughout the festival weekend is required.
