Building Official I or II

As a Building Official, you will review, assess, and enforce compliance with building bylaws, the BC Building Code, and other related statutes and regulations. You are highly organized and motivated, with a demonstrated knowledge of construction methods and materials. You are proficient with provincial statutes and regulations, have active membership with the Building Officials Association of BC (BOABC), and are skilled in conflict resolution and providing exceptional customer service.
We are currently looking to fill a vacancy at the Building Official Level I or II.
Building Official I – $46.60 to $51.78 per hour- Works primarily within the Level I (one and two‑family dwellings) scope of practice
- BOABC Level I Qualification, including a minimum Level I Plumbing Official qualification
- Two (2) years related experience, ideally as a municipal Building Official
- Valid BC Drivers’ License (Class
5)
- Works primarily within the Level II (Part 9 buildings) scope of practice
- BOABC Level II Qualification, including a minimum Level I Plumbing Official qualification
- Three (3) years related experience, ideally as a municipal Building Official
- Valid BC Drivers’ License (Class
5)
