Position: Auxiliary Labourer for Roads Operations
Be an integral part of the Township of Langley’s public works as an Auxiliary Labourer in Roads Operations. This role focuses on physical, manual tasks in roadway maintenance and construction.

The Township of Langley is actively recruiting for up to twenty auxiliary Labourers to support the Roads Operations Department. This unionized position involves a variety of physical duties, from landscape maintenance to using machinery. Successful candidates will engage in semi-skilled tasks while adhering to strict safety and operational guidelines specific to roadwork.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform various semi-skilled road construction and maintenance tasks

• Function as pad-person for excavators and assist grading efforts

• Use pneumatic tools to break down surfaces

• Operate compacting machines for effective back filling

• Drive vehicles to deliver necessary tools and materials

Requirements:

• Completed Grade 12 and some construction experience

• Capability and knowledge of construction methods and tools

• Ability to understand instructions clearly

• Physical strength to handle manual labor outdoors

• Valid BC Class 3 Driver’s License essential
