Fraser Health is embracing virtual methods to enhance patient care. This position provides entirely virtual clinical services and is part of the new Virtual Psychiatry Unit, delivering acute mental health and substance use care to clients across the Fraser Health Region. Care is administered to acute patients directly in their homes and through virtual channels.
Responsibilities
Consult at the Virtual Psychiatry Unit, actively engaging patients in their residences via virtual channels.
Provide assessment, outpatient treatment, consultation, and family meetings.
Organize case conferences, discharge planning, and educational sessions for psychiatry residents and medical students.
Ensure continuity of care by fostering positive working relationships with all members of the care team and advocating for psychiatric needs.
Participate in interdisciplinary team work and provide virtual on‑call duty.
Attend occasional in‑person team meetings as required.
Qualifications
Qualified or eligible Psychiatrist with the requisite competency for delivering acute mental health and substance use care.
