Position Purpose and Summary

Serving within the Centre for Calling & Career Development (CCCD), Career Development Coordinator works with international students and students engaging in work integrated learning experiences to ensure that every graduate is life and career ready. Reporting to the Director, the Coordinator is a key member of the CCCD team as they support students in both initial integration into Canadian employment while also ensuring students are career ready by graduation through the office’s regular career development pathways.

The coordinator will organize, implement, and facilitate resources, forms, processes, platforms and events. The coordinator will also support the team in and execute core services of the CCCD.

Key Areas of Accountability

  • Provide group and individual resume building and interview prep workshops and coaching.
  • Provide 1:1 career coaching and career development support.
  • Assist international students with career development, career transition, job search and other career challenges.
  • Implement logistics for events such as workshops, webinars, hiring fairs, etc.
  • Stay informed about key international student trends, labour market issues, and connecting students with newcomer service providers.
  • Coordinate forms and process for experiential learning such as internships and co-ops
  • Participate in larger career education initiatives. This includes engaging with the CCCD team and providing support as needed.
  • Liaise with international support staff across campus, including the International Student Support Committee (ISSC).
  • Connect with and build positive relationships with employers in the community to help support students gain employment.

    Standards & Requirements

    Education
    :

  • Bachelor’s degree is required; liberal arts preferred.
  • Certified Leadership/Career/Life Coach is preferred.
  • Experience
    :

  • Some experience working with immigrant, refugee or international students is preferred.
