Become a Planner 1 with the Township of Langley, where you will engage in land development analysis and support community growth. This temporary full-time role offers a chance to leverage your urban planning expertise while making informed decisions.
The Township of Langley seeks a temporary Planner 1 for its Development Planning Department, from August 31, 2026, to December 31, 2027. In this role, you will work under the Manager of Development Planning, handling rezoning, subdivision applications, and development permits. You will also engage with community members and departments on planning related inquiries, showcasing your strong communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct detailed analysis of rezoning applications and compliance
• Draft and consolidate bylaws and prepare council reports
• Liaise with internal and external contacts on planning issues
• Answer public and departmental inquiries on land use
• Attend meetings to represent Development Planning with expertise
Requirements:
• University degree plus post-graduate in relevant field
• Knowledge of urban planning principles and regulations
• Proficient in analytical and research techniques
• Effective communicator with various stakeholders
• Valid BC Class 5 Driver’s License and driving record
