The Township of Langley requires a Fire Prevention Inspector to ensure public safety through inspections and compliance with municipal and provincial fire regulations. You will play a pivotal role in identifying fire hazards, issuing orders for non-compliance, and providing critical fire safety advice. Your engagement in community educational initiatives will help foster a safer environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform inspections on public and private buildings
• Address complaints and liaise with regulatory bodies
• Accept and review fire safety compliance plans
• Create pre-incident plans for fire suppression teams
• Conduct fire safety education sessions for the public
Requirements:
• Completion of Grade 12 with fire protection training
• Familiarity with the BC Fire Code and regulations
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License required
• Police Information Check required for employment
