Job Summary
Part Time Radiological Technologist at Langley Memorial Hospital. An individual who is passionate about making a difference in the lives of others will provide diagnostic radiographic and fluoroscopic imaging services while adhering to radiation safety and professional standards.
Responsibilities
Perform general duty radiographic/fluoroscopic procedures consistent with established standards and protocols.
Conduct requested examinations using departmental standards, routines, and radiation protection practices.
Complete procedures, label permanent records, maintain and update records in RIS/PACS, and check images for technical quality.
Explain procedures and provide instructions to patients, answering questions.
Collect relevant clinical data, record history and clinical information, and keep records up to date.
Prepare contrast agents, set up trays, dispose items, and clean instruments according to policy.
Monitor patient care and safety, ensuring adherence to departmental standards and policies.
Provide input into quality improvement and risk management procedures and processes.
Clean, test, and perform quality control on equipment; address maintenance issues and arrange repairs.
Perform clerical duties related to patient demographics, histories, and data entry.
Assist in instruction of staff and students through orientations, in‑service presentations, and demonstrations.
Participate in research and special projects with supervisor and other health professionals.
Engage in Continuous Quality Improvement/LEAN programs, performing audits and quality assurance checks.
Carry out responsibilities in accordance with health and safety requirements, reporting unsafe situations immediately.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Certification with the CAMRT.
Demonstrated knowledge and practice of safe work procedures with diagnostic radiographic and medical imaging equipment.
Demonstrated ability to perform radiographic examinations in compliance with departmental standards.
Demonstrated knowledge of evidence‑based practice related to the designated modality.
Demonstrated knowledge of organization policies, procedures, and standards of care.
Demonstrated knowledge of research process and methodology.
Demonstrated knowledge of PACS/Radiology Information Systems, including digital imaging, image archiving, and retrieval.
Demonstrated ability to communicate orally and in writing and to interact effectively with clients, families, co‑workers, physicians, other health‑care staff, and external agencies.
Demonstrated ability to operate related equipment.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and in collaboration with others.
Demonstrated ability to establish workload priorities in collaboration with others.
Demonstrated ability in CPR techniques.
Demonstrated computer skills, including effective use of a computerized client care information system.
Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
