    The role of a Village team member is to facilitate an enriched living experience for each Villager by fostering and nurturing relationships; enabling Villagers to control and manage their day; enabling feelings of safety, security & connectedness to people and things that matter to each person; establishing trusting relationships with families; enabling learning of new things, and; making meaningful contributions within The Village and surrounding communities.

    ACCOUNTABILITY OBJECTIVE:

    Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of seniors? Our Enriched Living Facilitators are critical to our communities by empowering people to do things that matter most to them while providing a comfortable, safe, and nurturing environment, regardless of cognitive or physical limitations. Under the direction of the Health & Wellness Manager, or designate, the Enriched Living Facilitator position is focused on enriching Villager’s lives by ensuring they can make their own choices and lead full lives as independently as they can.

    Responsible for delivering care, facilitating activity programming, serving and preparing meals, and ensuring Villager households are kept neat and tidy according to policies and procedures, and established standards of care as instructed by the Health and Wellness Manager, or LPN/RN in absence of the Health and Wellness Manager, or designate.

    • Minimum of grade 12 education required.
    • Has obtained certificate from an approved Health Care Aide program, and a current BC Care Aide Registration. Completion of medical administration certificate.
    • Certified in Emergency First Aid, and CPR required.
    • Previous experience as a Health Care Aide working with seniors is considered an asset.
    • Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally, in the English language, nurturing excellent human relations with residents, families and other team members.
    • Ability to work with minimal supervision and meet resident care needs, demonstrating initiative and problem-solving skills.
    • Dependable, responsible and an ability to work well with others in a team environment and independently. Demonstrates a positive attitude necessary to meet the goals and standards of the residence.
    • A Villager-oriented individual, whose visions and values align with those of the residence.
    • Must have a valid regional safe food handler’s certificate.
    • Demonstrated commitment to and understanding of the concepts of shared leadership and team empowerment, and person-directed care.
    • Participates in and adheres to continuous quality improvement standards.
    • Collaborates with the care team to provide feedback on care plans for the Villager’s based on their physical, emotional, social and safety needs.
