Position Description
The HR Employee Centre is the front-line hub for People & Culture, delivering timely, confidential support across onboarding, job and status changes, leaves, benefits, and HR data. As a student, you will provide administrative and project support to an assigned department while contributing to team objectives, triaging cases, maintaining data accuracy, and collaborating with specialists in Total Rewards, Payroll, and HR Operations to deliver a smooth employee experience.
This is a full-time 4-month temporary role from beginning of May to the end of August, offering hands on experience, professional skill development, and the chance to build a strong network across First West Credit Union.
Accountabilities
Departmental Support: Provides administrative assistance and support to your assigned department, ensuring tasks are completed accurately and on time. Prepares ad hoc data and reports as required.Content & Documentation: Updates existing documents and create new content and documentation to support departmental initiatives.Project Work: Participates in project assignments, collaborating with team members to achieve project goals.Professional Development: Connects regularly with your leader, and build your professional network in a supportive, collaborative environment.Community Engagement: Connects with the First West student community and take part in activities designed to enhance your experience.Relationship Building: Liaises and builds trusted working relationships with internal stakeholders across various departments. Collaborates with team members and leaders to support projects and initiatives, while developing your professional network within First West Credit Union.Required Skills, Experience & Qualifications
Currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree program or post-secondary educationCommitted to developing skills and making an impact across multiple functions within a credit union, including finance, administration, and community programsExperience with one or more Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.Ability to work independently and collaboratively.Eagerness to learn new concepts, systems, and software quickly.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Highly organized with strong attention to detail.Displays an understanding of risk and risk ownership by being able to demonstrate adherence to policies and procedures.
