SUMMARY
The Data Reporting and Information Systems Specialist supports the Information System team and district administrators by responding to requests for data visualization and reporting, designs and automates data analytics, collaborates with team members on implementation of data warehouses and warehouse-based reporting systems and supports parents and the school community as required.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Prior experience with data visualization software such as Tableau software and systems;
Experience with SQL;
Maintains professional competence through individual and staff training;
Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, related field, or equivalent experience;
Experience analyzing data sets and correlating disparate data sets;
Experience creating reports, interfaces, or visualizations with web technologies;
Experience with Student Information Systems and the education environment.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Design, implement, test, and support data analytics, queries, and reports, while maintaining data confidentiality and security;
Identify problems within existing data views and reports, analyze the factors involved, propose and create solutions to resolve the identified problems;
Create documentation of methods, data systems and visualizations;
Create and manage custom forms
Monitor and provide immediate response to help desk issues through direct or virtual contact with end users;
Provide information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing service and reporting issues;
Assist in accomplishing the organizational mission by supporting educators with relevant and timely information and support;
Support Information Systems staff through cross training in essential department functions.
Perform other duties as assigned by the administration and district technology leadership team;

WORKING CONDITIONS/ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Work is typically performed in an office setting with occasional extended periods of time sitting and/or standing at a computer terminal.
Exposure to video display terminals occurs on a regular basis.
Ability to accept work interruptions in a considerate, helpful manner.
Occasionally, program necessity requires working hours beyond set hours and days.
Communication may not always be cooperative in nature and requires tact and discretion.
