Logistics & Yard Person

Southern Irrigation is actively seeking a motivated and reliable individual to join our team in a logistics-focused role, for our Langley location. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, helping customers, and wants to build a long-term career in the irrigation and water systems industry.

Rate of pay: $25-$35/hr depending on skills and experience

Job purpose:

This position’s primary responsibility is to work in the pipe yard and warehouse organizing and storing inventory, as well as ensuring customer orders are gathered, packaged and sent/delivered accurately, efficiently and safely while maintaining a high level of customer service.

Job Duties and Responsibilities   Maintain a clean and organized yard and warehouse
Operate various types of forklifts to unload/load pipe, septic tanks, concrete risers/basins, filter fabric rolls, etc.
Accept deliveries in yard and receive incoming PO’s and transfers
Store product in designated locations, stock shelves
Assist with warehouse tasks, including but not limited to:  Loading and unloading customers and stock deliveries
Pulling and checking orders
Verifying incoming shipments for accuracy
Band pipes together

Gather and package customer orders, and will-call orders
Process customer orders and take payments, tracking shipments as needed
Assist in the preparation of inter-company transfers
Schedule outgoing shipments with couriers
Clear snow, mow lawns, and maintain an aesthetically pleasing landscape

Ability to take initiative to identify tasks and do them with minimal supervision
Efficiency in loading/unloading/staging/packaging inventory with the focus of safety and customer service
Initiative to identify potential weak points or safety risks and discuss them with the logistics lead
