Who Are You?
Reporting to the general foreman you will work following given instructions to produce high quality painting results.
Responsibilities
Estimate the quantity of material required by measuring surfaces or reviewing a work order
Prepare the surface by cleaning, filling nail holes and cracks, and sanding rough spots to smooth the area for painting
Use brushes, rollers or spray guns to apply liquid coatings such as paint
Apply an undercoat primer or sealer before painting
Use premixed paints, or by mixing colour and pigment with oil and thinning and drying additives, to match specified colours
Using wire wheel to remove imperfections in the plate and weld
Apply finishes that are sponged, ragged and layered
Completion of Grade 10 (Preference will be given to high school graduates)
Experience in Industrial Painting is considered an asset
Interpersonal skills to work collaboratively and cooperatively with others
Time management, organizational and problem‑solving skills
Excellent safety record

Requirements for Successful Candidates
Due to safety considerations and the physically demanding nature of the role, successful candidates will undergo a pre‑employment medical evaluation upon hiring. Passing the Level 1 fitness test on your first attempt is a bona fide occupational requirement (BFOR).
