Job Description
Bevo Farms Ltd. is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Grower (Horticulture Technician) to support greenhouse production operations. This role is essential to maintaining plant health, production efficiency, and quality standards in a large-scale greenhouse environment.

Main Duties

Establish and implement procedures, in coordination with the Production Manager and Head Grower, for all aspects of crop production including seeding, preparation, sticking, pruning, fertilizing, irrigation, lighting, and temperature control

Monitor crops and greenhouse systems to ensure optimal growing conditions, including equipment use, space allocation, and facility management

Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on greenhouse equipment, or coordinate with trades personnel as required

Conduct detailed crop inspections to identify issues related to plant health, pests, diseases, and growth patterns

Apply plant growth regulators when necessary to address growth concerns

Inspect crops for pests and fungal issues and implement preventive or corrective measures

Train and support greenhouse staff to ensure proper execution of tasks and development of operational backups

Maintain accurate production records and review corrective actions with the Director of Growing and Head Grower

Collaborate with the Greenhouse Supervisor to plan staffing levels, assign tasks, and support workforce productivity and safety

Maintain detailed logs related to climate control, irrigation cycles, spraying, and biological controls

Ensure high standards of hygiene, sanitation, and housekeeping throughout the facility

Promote and enforce safe work practices in compliance with WorkSafeBC regulations

Take immediate corrective action to address unsafe or improper work practices

Employment Requirements

Completion of a college diploma or certificate in horticulture, agriculture, or a related field

2-3 years experience in greenhouse production, horticulture, or crop management is an asset

Knowledge of plant care, pest management, and environmental control systems

Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment

Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends during peak seasons
