Salary range for this position is CAD $41.42 - $59.52 per hour.

Detailed OverviewAs a member of a multidisciplinary team, provides direct nursing care to patients of the Hospice Residence at assigned locations according to established policies and procedures by assessing physical, emotional, spiritual and psychosocial needs; plans, documents and implements care plans; evaluates the effectiveness of the care plan and makes recommendations for care plan changes, where necessary.
ResponsibilitiesEducation and Experience
Graduation of an approved School of Nursing and/or Psychiatric Nursing. Two (2) years’ recent, related medical nursing experience in an acute care facility, including one (1) year of recent related experience in a hospice/palliative care environment, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse and/or Registered Psychiatric Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
Skills and Abilities- Knowledge of nursing practice as it pertains to hospice palliative/residence patients
- Knowledge of other healthcare professions and their contribution to the multidisciplinary team
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a multidisciplinary team
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
- Ability to organize and prioritize work in a dynamic environment
- Ability to develop and maintain rapport with the patient, family and caregivers
- Ability to operate related equipment including applicable software applications
- Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
