Registered Practical Nurse, Multi-Unit (CCC and Medical/Surgical)

The Registered Practical Nurse (Multi-Unit- CCC and Medical/Surgical) promotes and restores patients' health by completing the nursing process; collaborating with patients, physicians and multidisciplinary team members; providing physical and psychological support to patients, friends, and families; supervising assigned team members. The successful candidate will have the ability to work all shifts, including weekends and holidays. This position is available immediately.

• Demonstrate adherence to the professional practice standards of CNO.
• Demonstrate application of role in Code situation (ex. Code Blue).
• Communicate with patients, families, physicians, staff and community partners.
• Work with a variety of patients, from pediatric to geriatric.
• Observe and record patient behavior. Evaluate patient outcomes.
• Competent operation of medical equipment.
• Perform diagnostic tests within scope of practice.
• Safely administer medications and treatments.
• Contribute to plan of care from admission to discharge.

• Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO).
• Diploma from a recognized College.
• BCLS, NRP, Level 1 Breast Feeding and Maternal Child Courses, Palliative Care Education.
• Basic Cardiac Arrhythmias Certification, 12 Lead ECG Interpretation Certification.
• Two years related nursing experience working in acute, long-term care or community setting preferred.
• Working knowledge of Cerner software computer applications information system and related peripheral hardware preferred.
• High degree of physical effort.
• High degree of mental effort and analysis.

$37.51 - $39.01 per hour
