Fraser Health is on the lookout for a dedicated Part-Time Psychiatric Nurse in Langley, B.C. This pivotal role focuses on providing immediate support in mental health crises.
As a Psychiatric Liaison Nurse, you will engage in providing intake assessments and crisis interventions for psychiatric patients in the Emergency Department. You'll work in partnership with a multidisciplinary team to adapt care plans and enhance effective patient transitions to community services. Your expertise will be essential in ensuring quality mental health care.
Key Responsibilities:
• Screen and assess psychiatric referrals diligently
• Conduct psychosocial evaluations and gather essential information
• Develop comprehensive care plans with physicians
• Communicate with interprofessional teams for patient discharge
• Document assessments according to healthcare standards
Requirements:
• Graduation from an accredited Nursing program
• Current BCCNM registration as a nurse
• One year of experience in mental health care settings
• Strong crisis intervention and counseling skills
• Effective communication and teamwork skills
