The Ortho Assistant will work alongside orthodontists to assist in providing orthodontic care to patients. This role involves preparing treatment rooms, sterilizing equipment, taking X-rays, and educating patients on proper oral hygiene practices.

• High school diploma or equivalent required; certification or associate degree in dental assisting preferred
• X-ray certification or willingness to obtain certification
• Knowledge of dental terminology, instruments, and sterilization methods
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work well in a team environment
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills

• Prepare treatment rooms for orthodontic procedures
• Assist orthodontists during patient consultations and treatments
• Take and develop dental X-rays as directed by the orthodontist
• Sterilize instruments and equipment according to infection control guidelines
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and care instructions
• Maintain patient records and documentation accurately
• Assist with inventory management and ordering of supplies
• Follow all safety and health regulations to maintain a clean and hygienic work environment
